'Attorney-Assisted' Method

The Valley at Dusk
The Legal Action Workshop, (L.A.W.) offers clients three primary methods of service using the following structure:

Depending on your individual need, you may choose the attorney-assisted /do-it-yourself method, in which the attorneys do all of the required legal paperwork with your name appearing as "attorney of record;" or, if your situation is more complex, you might decide to have full representation by one of our attorneys; and finally, you might simply need one of our attorneys to prepare the appropriate legal documents for you for areas such as wills, trusts and powers of attorneys, which we do at a modest fee. Because of our unique 'attorney-assisted' method offered by the Legal Action Workshop (L.A.W.) you have affordable choices.

At the Legal Action Workshop we are able to offer clients this cost-effective method of 'attorney-assisted' services due to a cutting edge delivery system commonly referred to as "unbundled" legal services?.

What is the Meaning of 'Unbundled Legal Services'?

The term "unbundled legal services" refers to an attorney providing partial services in a legal matter where a client is responsible for representing himself or herself. A lawyer advises the client, prepares, files and serves the necessary legal documents, but the client's name appears on the documents as the "attorney of record." To find out more about this low cost service contact the Legal Action Workshop (L.A.W) in Encino, California and consult with your "Do- it-Yourself" Attorneys.

If I choose the 'Attorney-Assisted' Method, will I have to go before a jury?

No, you never go before a jury in a domestic/family matter or a Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceeding. Juries are for civil or criminal matters.

Do I need to go to court for a family law matter?

In many instances you do not need to appear in court. However, if your matter is uncontested and you have issues with no marital settlement agreement you will need to appear in court. In addition, if your matter is contested and you do not have a marital settlement agreement you will also need to appear in court. At the Legal Action Workshop we will advise you as to the correct action and counsel you thoughout.

What is the procedure for a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in the 'Attorney-Assisted' method?

After consulting with you, a Legal Action Workshop attorney will prepare the necessary legal documents and file the papers. The court will set a date for you to appear before the Trustee. You will be counseled regarding the questions that the Trustee will ask as well as throughout the bankruptcy process. Approximately 3 1/2 months after this meeting you will receive a discharge notice in the mail.

What happens if I decide that I no longer want to continue using the 'Attorney-Assisted' method?

You have the option of hiring Legal Action Workshop to represent you or hiring the law firm of your choice.
